This is very cool, and potentially useful: a program called Dead Man’s Switch [sic] a computer-equivalent of the railroad device. Once you install it and set it up, you have to reset it every so often. If you fail to do so, it will take various actions, including sending emails, posting to a web page, or encrypting/destroying sensitive files.
